Indian Navy AA 2022 Recruitment Overview:
Post Name: Sailors for Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Age limit – Candidates should be born between 01 Aug 1999 to 31 Jul 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational qualification – Qualified in 10+2 examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects: – Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science from an Educational board recognized by Central/ State government.
Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA) August 2022 Selection Process
The selection of the candidates is based on the order of merit on their performance in the following events.
✅ Written Test
✅ Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
✅ Medical Examinations

The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate. For the Candidate’s ease of understanding the standard of the question, the paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the examination is available on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate. The Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each Section and in aggregate.
The penalty for the Wrong Answer. Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for each wrong answers marked by a candidate in the question paper. There are four alternatives for the answer to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
Phase- II Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Qualifying for Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (उठक बैठक) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
Phase-III Medical Standards
Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per the medical standard described in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum chest expansion of 5 cms.
Indian Navy Eligibility Criteria-
Educational Qualification
- Candidates wishing to apply for the Recruits of Upper Secondary (SSR), must have passed the exam 10 + 2 with Mathematics and Physics, with at least one of these subjects Chemistry / Biology / Computer science.
Age Limit
- The age for Agniveer (SSR) candidates should be between 17½ – 21 years on the day of enrolment.
